Privacy
Last updated 3 July 2026
Quency collects very little, so this policy is short. It covers the Quency website; the app, when it arrives, will have its own notice.
In brief: no accounts, no advertising trackers, and anything you give us is used only for the reason you gave it.
Who we are
Quency is the sound project of composer Damian Montagu, based in West Sussex, England. For anything in this policy, write to hello@quency.com and a human will reply.
What we collect, and why
That is the whole list. We never sell or rent personal information, to anyone.
- Newsletter email. If you subscribe, we store your email address and use it only to send the newsletter: notes on new sounds, events, and the charity mission.
- Messages you send. If you write to us through the contact page or by email, we keep your name, address, and message for as long as we need them to reply and follow up.
- Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard request logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site fast and secure. These are short-lived and are not used to profile you.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics, this page will say so before it happens.
How long we keep things
Your newsletter address stays on the list until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful for helping you, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent at any time. One email to hello@quency.com is enough.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a fresh date at the top.
